Decorating the Old Cabin for Nancy's Visit (includes video of her reaction)

Nancy & I stop for priority supplies (beer!) on the way to the farm. Isn't she cute!
On the weekend of Sept 19 - 22, 2014 - Night & Day Farm hosted our first guests. It was to be a private unveiling & celebration of  progress made -recent renovations, clean-up, and love poured into this fabulous historic property. Among guests arriving from out of town - in this case, from Arizona ! My dear friend Nancy was the first to land. Nancy & I have known each other since 8th grade - we both lived in the rural countryside near the Bull Run Battlefield in Virginia - so you can imagine the amount of old stories and wonderful memories we are connected through. Many of our old friends - alumni from Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Virginia
we are a pretty tight-knit group even 30+ years later!) - took part in this adventure via images we posted & shared on Facebook -- how wonderful is that? A "closed" Facebook group has been the meeting place of over 100 members - friends & family, taking part & cheering me on since June 2014, through the day to day experience acquiring this farm has been for me.

"SQUASH BLOSSOM PARADISE" cabin

This blog post is a short story in pictures of the cosmetic transformation of a little old one-room cabin as I rushed in the midst of other renovation projects to create a very personal space for my dear friend's visit. Her reaction (captured via video and posted below) was priceless and all that I could have hoped for. Labors of love are the lifetime memories inspiring shared stories for years to come. ~ Gigi de Lugo / Founder of Night & Day Farm + Imaginarium

Pictures of the process - quick cosmetic fix-up then decorating with a "make it up as I go along" theme using my personal treasures + a few discovered on the farm. Nancy shipped a box of sheets, towels and treasures as her donation to the farm ahead of her arrival ~ the gorgeous sheets+ are out of that box - matched up as if we planned this decor all along ! The short video clip below is as Nancy arrives and sees the cabin for the first time. Her response made it all worthwhile ~~~ priceless !
